A polite request!

Please remember that YABS is run on a not-for-profit basis.

Cancellations and refunds

If you need to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellations must be confirmed in writing via email.

If you cancel at any time up to two months before the seminar, you will receive a full fees refund, less a £30 admin fee.

If you cancel between one and two months before the seminar, you will receive a fees refund, less a £150 admin charge which covers the time spent processing your refund and contacting people on the waiting list to find someone able to fill your place at the seminar.

If you cancel at any time during the month before the seminar, you will only receive a fees refund if we manage to find someone else willing to take your place at the seminar. If we do manage to find someone to take your place, you will receive your fees, less a £150 charge which covers the time spent processing your refund and refilling your place at the seminar. With just a few weeks before the seminar starts, it can take considerable time to find an alternative student to take up a cancelled place at short notice.

Changes to the advertised schedule

We reserve the right to amend the speakers and/or faculty or running order of the event at the last minute because of illness, self isolation or lockdown. Some activities like the bookshop tour and the printing press tour are offered subject to the social distancing guidelines in place at the time of the event.

Use of your details

Networking is a crucial part of the seminar experience, and we share participant's contact details with the other students, speakers, and faculty from that same year group to enable contact between students. Your contact details will never be shared beyond your year group or passed on to third parties. You can opt out of sharing your contact details during the registration process.
